I want to copy a picture from a site that does not allow copying ....

Did you tried dragging the picture from Safari to your desktop ?

Right click on the image and from the popup menu, select "Save Image As" and it'll let you to save the image ;

hmm...that is strange. May be its protected. But you can take a screen shot. Press Apple (Command) Key +Shift+4 . This will allows you to use your mouse to select a specific part of your desktop to capture. This will turn your mouse pointer into a cross, so hold down the mouse button and drag to select the part of the image you want. When you release the button the screen shot will "snap" that image or part of screen. Press 'Esc' to release. The image should be saved on your desktop.
