The SMTP server “” rejected the password XXXXX user

I have not reset my password I have an iPhone that cant get mail either.

I cant figure out how to reset the damn thing

So when you do the password XXXXX on mobileMe it doesn't give you an error? Can you log into the web interface on the MobileMe homepage?

no it says my account has expired I have never used mobileme just my .mac mail acct.

Ahh, you can't use your .mac mail account unless you are paying for MobileMe. The e-mail account is part of the membership. If you are looking for a free e-mail service my suggestion would be gmail. Other that that, you'll need to pay for your .Mac membership if you want to send mail through their servers.
