Just bought my first mac on ebay. It's a G4 flower pot with OS X Panther, 800 MHz processor speed, single core, 1 GB RAM, 80 GB hard drive. Can I upgrade directly from Panther to Snow Leopard?
Hi I am Ashik. I think i can help you

Unfortunately, No ! you can't upload your Mac into Snow Leopard because Snow Leopard requires and Intel based Mac and your's is a PowerPC based. Your mac can hold only upto Tiger, and you can install Tiger without any problems. Here are Tiger System Requirements :
  • A PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor
  • Built-in FireWire
  • At least 256 MB of RAM (1GB is better)
  • DVD drive (DVD-ROM), Combo (CD-RW/DVD-ROM) or SuperDrive (DVD-R) for installation
  • At least 3 GB of free disk space;

If you want to upgrade into Tiger, you must buy a Mac OS X Tiger Retail Disk or Upgrade Disks and not Mac OS X Tiger Restore disks. (You can buy it from e-bay or Amazon)
