I have an I Phone. In the middle of downloading an upgrading

Customer Question

I have an I Phone. In the middle of downloading an upgrading there was an interuption and as a consequence (I think) my phone froze. I went to At&T, who gave me a slew of instructions but now that I am home I have connected my phone to my PC and its is frozen on the I Tunes symbol. How do I get to where I can restore my I Phone?

HelloCustomerand thanks for using

Try to force a reset on the iphone

To do this, hold the sleep/wake button and Home buttons simultaneously for a few seconds; the display will quickly wipe itself and you should see the black background and white Apple logo, signifying a reset

When I went to the AY&T Store we did what you ae suggesting. Although, the apple symbol does appear it then switches over to the i tunes symbol and the connect symbol. I tried restoring, (got that far) but I received a message that says that this phone cannot be restored. (Along with a gigantic page of instructions on things to try.

Some have had success with this:

Disconnected all other USB items (ext. hard drives)
Disabled Symantec Anti Virus
Reset the iPhone (Hold the sleep/wake button and the Home button until the screen goes black and white apple logo appear.
Plug iPhone in when the image of iTunes showing
Start iTunes
iTunes recognised iPhone in Recovery mode, offered to restore
Click Restore
iPhone flashed then went to black screen, eventually iTunes gave an error.
Then unplug iPhone
Leave it with black screen
Shut down iTunes
Plugged phone back in (Still with black screen)
Started iTunes, again noticed recovery mode, pressed Recover

See if it recovers
