Hi I am Ashik.I think i can help you
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What version of Mac OS X are you using ? (Click on the Apple icon and select "About This Mac")

Are you trying to restore the iCal,iTunes and Addressbook contents from your Hard disk or Do you want to make backup into external hard disk and then restore it after erase and install ?

Customer replied 1366 days and 6 hours ago.

How did you backup it....using Migration Assistant tool or any other backup programs ?

Customer replied 1366 days and 6 hours ago.

No, I did not use any backup tools. I simply copied the contents of the computer hard drive onto the external hard drive.

One more question : Did you copied all contents in your Macintosh HD or selected items ?

If you copied only some specific contents, which are they ?

Customer replied 1366 days and 6 hours ago.

I copied selected items - basically all information other than applications.

Hi,
I think you copied the "Users" folder into your external hard disk. So first we can restore the iTunes.

So copy the complete iTunes library from ~/Users/[your name]/Musics (From your external hard disk). Copy the whole folder "iTunes" into your internal hard disk at the same place i.e ~/Users/[your name]/Musics. (Warning : This will replace the entire iTunes library in your internal hard drive of your iMac. So make the backup of the iTunes library of your internal hard drive's itunes library into any other place to prevent the loss of data. )

Now launch iTunes and see if you are able to see all the contents of your iTunes.

Please let me know if this works or not.

Only Click ACCEPT after your problem solved.

In process of copying, will let you know

Glad to hear that iTunes worked...Now we can look into iCal, iCal is not very easy as iTunes. First, quit iCal if it is opened. Then to goto ~/Users/[your name]/Library (in you external hard disk) and you can see a folder named Calenders. Copy the folder and paste into the same location into your internal hard drive i.e into ~/Users/[yourname]/Library

(Warning : This will replace the entire iCal entries in your internal hard drive of your iMac. So make the backup of the iCal from your internal hard drive's into any other place to prevent the loss of data. )

Then goto ~/Users/[your name]/Library/ and open the folder named "Preferences". You can see a file named "com.apple.ical.plist". Move it into desktop and restart your Mac. Now open iCal see if the entries are there.

Please let me know if this works or not.

Hi,
Now we can look into Addressbook, the addressbook is most likely to be saved in ~/Library/Application Support/ in your Mac. So open your external hard disk, open Library folder, open Application Support and copy the whole folder Addressbook and paste into the same location of your Mac's internal drive.

After that, In your external hard disk goto ~/Users/[your name]/Library/ApplicationSupport/ and copy the Folder Addressbook and paste into the same location in your internal drive i.e in ~/Users/[your name]/Library/ApplicationSupport/

Now Launch Addressbook and see all the contacts are there.........

(Warning : This will replace the entire Addressbook entries in your internal hard drive of your iMac. So make the backup of the Addressbook folder from your internal hard drive's into any other place to prevent the loss of exisiting data. )

Good Luck !

Best Regards,
Ashik
