In order to convert your old quickbooks to the new version, you first need to update your quickbooks file to the new version on the PC.

Follow these steps:

  1. On your PC, order and download a free trial version of QuickBooks Premier Accountant Edition 2009. -- (It's free)
  2. Install the trial version on your PC.
  3. Open your company file with the trial version of QuickBooks Premier Accountant Edition 2009.
  4. Choose File, choose Utilities and choose Create Copy for QuickBooks Mac.
  5. Transfer the company file to your Mac.
  6. Install the latest version of QuickBooks Pro for Mac.
  7. Open the company file that you transferred in step 5 in QuickBooks Pro for the Mac. This will update the company files as a QuickBooks 2009 for Mac file.
  8. On your PC, uninstall the trial version of QuickBooks Premier Accountant Edition 2009.
