we just moved and now there is a humming noise -- sounds like

Resolved Question:

we just moved and now there is a humming noise -- sounds like a bug zapper -- that wasn't there before. Not related to brightness. When computer is off -- cyclical. Gets louder and stays humming when computer is on. What could this be?

Ok, Is this an older, rounded kind of iMac, in color? or a newer flat panel model?

Can you describe or tell me specifically which one?

Ok.

I think this iMac has the issue that some have, and that is a bad logic board, specifically the video portion of the board.

I would get it to an Apple dealer or Genius bar and have them listen to it and run diagnostics on it.

There will not be much I can do in this forum to help with that.

Sorry.
