Customer Question

Our school has a Teacher who has a license for iTunes. He has it installed on an eMac. The logic board on the eMac failed and had to be replaced. We did not replace the logic but gave him another eMac and put his hard drive into it. Since then he has not been able to access his iTunes account on that computer. It says he needs to authorize it. When he does it just asks again and tells him he has it on 5 computers including the eMac with the new logic board. Can you give us directions to get this iTunes working on the computer. The old serial number for the eMac G8437PWAQJ8. The new serial number is XXXXX

It sounds like the teacher has used all 5 computers and needs to de-authorize all accounts.

Click iTunes Store in the menu on the left side of iTunes.
If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
Click the Account button again (your ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.

He has not used all 5 computers. He has used only 3. The problem was with the firewall that our district has installed. We solved the problem. but thanks for your input.

I am waiting for the teacher to deauthorize the two computers that he has at home before we continue with this. He has only four computers listed but iTunes still list 5 in use. He will get back with me today and we will proceed from there.

Thanks for your patience.
