Customer Question

I am working on a iMac G5 with OS 10.4.11. Periodically as I am working the screen dims for perhaps a minute, then brightens back up. (By dim, it goes from a 10 to a 7 and sometimes a 5.) Is there a fix for this?

I checked the setting for System Preferences/Display and slid the Brightness bar to the right.

Go to system preferences, then to energy saver. That's where the dimness setting is.
Customer: replied 8 years ago.
No, this isn't an energy saver issue. It happens when I am actively working on the computer.
Any other thoughts?

Then this is most likely a bigger issue, and almost certainly hardware. You may have a faulty or failing display.
