Already Tried:
Tried to reset the password. I had someone come in about a year ago
and I think he used a different password XXXXX didn't write it down for me.
I am trying to update and can't because of "error - invalid password."
As far as I'm concerned I have always used   squid24.

Hi.

You are going to need the installer CD/disk that came with your Mac to change the admin password XXXXX you can get back in and update it.

If you have this disk or a install disk from Apple, then boot from that disk by either holding down the C key or the Option key.

The C key should boot nthe Mac into the installer, the option key should launch the Startup Manager and allow you to choose the install disk to boot from.

When in the installer, choose a language and then click next. Now go to the Menu bar and choose Reset password.

In here, click on the pop up menu and choose the Admin user or account you need to change the password XXXXX

Change the password XXXXX choose quit, and then quit the installer to restart the Mac.

You will now need your new password XXXXX log in and to update it.
