THIS IS FOR JENNIFER SPRAGGINS ONLY!!! I re-posted this to a NEW THREAD. Per Customer Service. Let me know if you get it. Also, for the plagiarism paper. I need to have an abstract written for it. Can you please resend it with an abstract. The professor wants all papers to have an abstract and the body should have section headers. Hey Jennifer Spraggins!! It's been awhile but I am really hoping you can help me out! Just let me know....soon! Thanks! *Plagiarism Paper - Due July 5, 2012 – As you write the Plagiarism Paper, you need to do the following: Clearly define plagiarism. Address why students plagiarize. Discuss intentional vs. unintentional plagiarism. Discuss the importance of citing with specific examples of improper citation and describe why this is considered plagiarism. Discuss citing, direct quoting, paraphrasing and expressing another's ideas. Define common knowledge and whether it is better to over-cite or under-cite. Your paper should be 3-4 pages, double-spaced, with 12 pt. Times New Roman font. This paper requires you to read the information from the three websites provided in Module/Week 1. Please make sure to cite all sources you use. **This is what my professor is looking for in the plagiarism paper: Be sure to heed APA guidelines at all times. I personally expect a Title page, abstract, body with section headers in APA and References page. Cite codes of ethics in APA consistently throughout. Your paper should be 3-4 pages, double-spaced, with 12 pt. Times New Roman font. ____________________________________________________________________________________ *1st Research Paper - DUE July 12, 2012 ** Very Important, I need the Annotated Bibliography, Thesis and Abstract to be 3 separate papers, then for it all to be combined into one big paper. Please let me know if you need clarification on this. Please select a topic related to human development and submit your topic with a brief description of the approach you will take with your research. Submit the topic for the Research Paper by July 4, 2012. EXAMPLE: Research topic -- Parenting Styles with the approach of reporting current research associated to the best parenting style and how research has identified the positive and negative outcomes of all four parenting styles. The finished product for this assignment will be a double-spaced, 10-15-page paper (not including title page, abstract, and references) addressing your chosen topic. You must include at least 10 relevant journal articles in your paper. All articles must be empirical* and recent (written within the last 5 years unless the citation is linked to an author whose work is seminal to your topic). This paper should be written in a scholarly fashion, strictly adhering to APA standards. Do not express your own opinion. The final copy of the research paper is due on Wednesday of Module/Week 8. No papers will be accepted after 5 days from the due date. You should use the following guidelines in constructing your research paper: Title page. Abstract page. Introduction should define and discuss the importance of your topic. The body of the paper should organize the topic in a meaningful way and critically review the current empirical knowledge base relevant to your topic. A conclusion section should include a discussion of practice/policy implications/recommendations and future research directions. Reference page should list at least 10 primary empirical sources. Follow APA Publication Manual organization and style guidelines. Points will be deducted for format violations and grammatical problems. *Reports of empirical studies summarize original research. Many journal articles are reports of empirical studies. In order to learn how to review the literature, it is important to be able to read and understand reports of empirical studies. Empirical articles have the following sections: abstract, introduction, method, results, discussion, and references. Annotated Bibliography An annotated bibliography is a bibliography covering all of the different articles found on a specific topic with a summary of the given research. Locate at least 10 sources related to your research topic and create an annotated bibliography. Each of your sources should be academic (from a scholarly journal) and recent (written within the last 5 years). Important - Include at least 8 empirical articles. Use correct APA format for the citations and for the summaries of the articles. DO NOT use the article's abstract as your summary; you must read the article and summarize it yourself. Review the Research Paper Instructions attachment in the first item for more information about the requirements for your research paper. EXAMPLE: Rand, D. C. (1997). The spectrum of parental alienation syndrome (part I). American Journal of Forensic Psychology,15 (3), 1-8. Deidre Conway Rand, a forensic psychologist traces the history of what Dr. Richard Gardner termed Parental Alienation Syndrome. Rand states in his article that Gardner coined the term Parental Alienation Syndrome (PAS) in the mid-80s after over 10 years of working with children in high conflict divorces. Since Gardner's contribution to civil forensics there has been much debate as to the accuracy of PAS. Rand describes the pitfalls and the contributions that have followed Gardner's suggestion of PAS. He summarizes by clarifying that PAS is a developing concept in forensic psychology and the courts are abusing the terminology. Thesis Statement After reading your 10 articles, what is your empirical knowledge of the subject matter, and what conclusion have you formed based on the research you read? State your conclusion/thought in a concise manner and you will have your thesis statement. DO NOT state: The purpose of this paper is to address how Parental Alienation is over used in the courts But instead state: Although Gardner made great contributions to working with children in high conflict divorces; Parental Alienation Syndrome is an overused poorly understood concept. Abstract Read the APA Manual pp. 25-27, then write and submit an abstract for your paper. ____________________________________________________________________________________ 2nd Research Paper - RESEARCH PAPER ORGANIZATION - Due July 19, 2012 – Topic will be Marriage, Family & Couple counseling. Hi Jennifer, It has been a week now and I still haven't received the ethics paper. Is everything going okay with you? This isn't usually like you.
