Lexus Gs400 VSC lights on/off - no response from throttle - getting the dreaded "limp mode" - any definitive fix?
JA: Do you happen to know the code? Have you tried to reset the computer?
Customer: Turned off car, wait 5 minutes, turn it back on - check engine goes away.
JA: What year is your GS300?
Customer: GS400 1999 year
JA: Are you fixing your GS300 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Cleaned throttle body - that is all. This problem occurs on random maybe once every 6 months. Usually get stuck on freeway, no way to troubleshoot.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Gone through may forum discussions, no one seems to have a definitive answer.

Instead of trying to resolve on our own, we had to bring it in to Lexus due to the danger of this recurrence. I'll close the question.
