Customer Question

The top won't open nor close fully and some of the lights on the dash are on
JA: Have you checked the fuses? The dashboard bulbs?
Customer: Not yet, I will do so - I shut the car off and restarted and the engine didn't start - it made a strange almost clicking noise
JA: What is the model/year of your Lexus?
Customer: 2012 SC 460
JA: Are you fixing your SC yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I'm trying to - I live alone out in the sticks, Colorado
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: There isn't even a dealership around, I do have a Toyota dealer about 16 miles away - was thinking of having it towed there. I will check the fuses in a few.

Please cancel my order - I'm having the car towed in to a shop. Thanks.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If you're getting a clicking noise instead of the engine cranking it may be a dead battery, the starter, a cable or connection issue. A rapid clicking is due to low battery voltage available to the starter, a single click is usually the starter.

Do you still have the vehicle?
