Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

There are quite a few things that could cause a start/die issue. You may have fuel or spark concern or the problem may be security related. You could have a bad cam or crank sensor causing a loss of spark or a loss of power or ground to the fuel pump.

The first step in diagnosing the problem is to use a code reader or scan tool to see if any fault codes are setting. Have you checked for codes?
What model is the vehicle and what engine do you have?

Code P1120. 98 Lexus gs300.

Did the problem start after any work was done, a jump start, etc?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
No. The battery had recently been replaced though. The first thing noticed was that the car seemed like it was losing power/ wouldn't accelerate. It seems like it is not getting enough gas to keep the car running. I know it is not the alternator I had that checked. I've had the fuel pump and the throttle body replaced.

I'm not showing P1120 to be a valid code for a 1998 GS300. Can you post the VIN?
