Customer Question

i have a 2000 lexus es300.when I turn on the a/c the compressor starts and then shuts off.
The a/c light blinks.I replaced the a/c relay still does it.Pressures when a/c is'nt running are low side 100psi / high side 125psi.A/C running before it shuts off low side 50psi / high side 175psi at idle. When I have the rpms at 2000 the compressor stays on alittle longer and low side pressure goes down to 40psi / high side 240psi.

Name is***** goal is to provide you with excellent service – if you feel you have gotten anything less, please reply back,
Ok if the light ios flashing then you have a A/C malfunction code or codes stored with in the HVAC control system.
Here is what you need to do to retrieve the malfunction codes ..
While pressing and holding auto and fresh/recirculating switch together switch on the ignition ,(don't start).
The light will start to flash then after a few seconds the temp display
will give out codes .one after the other ,when you have all codes recorded on paper press the off button to stop the code readout .
You may find you have a 1422 code the pressure switch malfunction
but just guessing until you have the codes .
If you need help with the codes post them here for me to check .
Please rate my help a good to excellent if you are satisfied .
If not ready to rate don't rate poor or bad service as we can continue to work on this issue or I can opt out and recommend another expert .
After accepting there is no extra charge for further assistance.
If I don't reply soon I will as quickly as I can when i get back on line.
Kind regards Greg

Good morning.I'll have a scan tool on Sunday.Do you think the system is low on feon by the pressures readings I sent you earlier?
Expert:  Greg replied 1 year ago.
Hi .
No i would say a little high .
Having too much fluid will make the A/C also go warm .
I would let a little out and see what happens .
