1999 Lexus RX 300 177,000 miles – low speed/startup

Customer Question

1999 Lexus RX 300 177,000 miles – low speed/startup "shutter" of transmission – differential… Kurz also on "loading" at slow speeds up hill… Have changed spark plugs and coils at 166,000 miles. I have a 2001 Lexus RX 300 which does not have this transmission
problem suggestions?

Hello. Welcome to Just Answer. Please allow me to assist you. This sounds a lot like you are in dire need of a transmission flush. Low speed shudder is usually due to dirty/old fluid, or dirt deposits adehered to the transmission shift solenoid valves. A good transmission flush, (not a drain and refill) would be recommended if you were in my shop. Additionally, a can of transmission fluid conditioner would be highly advised.
