1999 Lexus GS300 How do I reset the engine immobilizer.
Country: United StatesMake: Lexus
Thank you for trusting Just Answer with your Lexus question. What is the condition you are experiencing? There is no reset for the immobiliser.
I replaced the fuel pump and it started right up.Turned it off and replaced battery with new Optima battery since then no start. Pumps is good, no signal to fuel pump controller.
When you turn the key to on position, does the check engine light come on? Any chance at all the battery terminals got sorted?
what do you mean by sorted? Crossed?
That should have been shorted. Yes, crossed, or maybe a tool shorted on the positive terminal.
No no chance. And yes when I turn the key to the on position the check engine light does come on.
Have you tried to start it with some starter fluid or brake clean sprayed into the intake to see if it starts and runs?
Yes it will start with carb spray
Do you have access to a digital voltmeter?
yes
Check for power and ground at the fuel pump while cranking.Boxer5441114.1876004977
Which wires should I check? There is power at the pump when the key is on at the black wire w/ red tracer and both blue wires one with red tracer and one with white tracer, I know that the white wire w/black tracer has a good ground. As for the smaller wires black w/ blue tracer and the other I am not sure. Which should I check for ground at pump? There are only 4 wire going to pump. The two blue ones and the two small gauge ones?
It is getting late for me. I will check on your answer tomorrow. Thanks for all your information so far. I hope we can get to the bottom of this.
The blue wire with red tracer is power and blue with white tracer is ground.
I have not gone to the car yet but previously when I turned on the key I had power in both the blue with red tracer and the blue with white tracer. Will that change when I am cranking it over?
Also I took out the fuel pump and blew into the hose connected to the pump to see if maybe there was some kind of blockage and when I did I heard a bubbling sound coming from the other side if the tank. Doesn't the pump pressure send the fuel directly to the fuel rail? Could there be a loose hose somewhere in the tank. Why am I hearing the bubbling sound? What is the fuel routing on this car from the pump? Thanks
As a general rule, Toyota vehicles switch grounds to operate various functions, and the fuel pump will not run until you turn key to start.
What about the bubbling? Do you think that there is something disconnected?
OK, I give up! Thanks for all you information. Unfortunately the both of us could not solve this problem. It's off to the dealer. Thanks again. I will rate you very high.
