Customer Question

I feel like I have to oversteer while driving, the steering does not feel firm. Alingment was done, but still the same problem. Besides, the steering wheel is off to the left a little, and if I want to keep straight the car pulls the right. Went back to alignment. This time the lead tech test drove the car, he confirmed the steering kind of loose and the st/wheel has the vibration, which I felt also, although tires are good and perfectly balanced. He checked the car on the rack while other mechanic kept turning the wheels from inside. He showed me the steering gear moving on the left and front sides. He mentioned the problem could be more on the left side where the bushing is worn out and it moves the right side.
I found aftermarket bushing for the right side, but could not find the left one. Called the dealer and they don't have it and it's a part of the st/gear and I have to buy the whole assembly. Is it true? my rack is not leaking even the car is 200K. Where can I find this bushing?

Customer :

GEORGEBMW1 :

Customer :

yes

GEORGEBMW1 :

What number are they?

Customer :

I bought this http://stores.autowearhouse.biz/-strse-70/ADUS-626-Armstrong-Lexus/Detail.bok. This is the right side. Mechanic says I need the left side also. I don't see on the picture of left side bushing. Is there any at all?

GEORGEBMW1 :

Thats why I asked you if you seen what you needed on the left side.

GEORGEBMW1 :

If you don't see them in the picture I showed you than you cannot get them seperate and you will need to replace the entire rack.

GEORGEBMW1 :

As the dealer stated.

Customer :

Do you think to change this right side busing will solve the problem? Is it possible since the right side is worn out it contributes to the movement on the left side?

GEORGEBMW1 :

It is hard for me to say 100% without inspecting the vehicle and experiancing the problem first hand, but any worn parts can for sure cause these types of issues you are having.

Customer :

thank you
