My 45 year old daughter and her husband are mentally abusing me. I will be 65 on June 3, 2015. On Feb. 5, 2015, my daughter came to my house and verbally attacked me and was physically threatening. She came at me with her chest pushed out and her fists in balls at her sides and cursed me and called me vile names. She called me on her cellphone and cursed me on the way to my house that day. I do not know why she did this. She had started developing some issues about mine and my granddaughter's close relationship (her daughter). She had been showing some signs of jealousy about our relationship, and during the attack she was screaming in my face that I had taught her child that I am over my daughter in her life and this is absolutely untrue. I was perplexed by my daughter's statements about this and could not understand why she would think such a thing. She and her husband have sent me a letter from a lawyer threatening me with law suits and restraining order if I ever contact them or my grandchild again. My granddaughter (age 10) has spent very much time with me at my home and I have even helped in her home schooling. She has spent at least one night per week (usually 2-3 nights) at my home and we've enjoyed a loving relationship for almost 11 years. She will be ll on June 9, 2015. I am suffering from PTSD as a result of my daughter's assault and severe anxiety and depression from being kept away from my granddaughter for no valid reason for over 2 months now. I don't think I can survive much longer without my precious grand child in my life and I feel abused and emotionally empty and devastated. Is there anything a lawyer can help me with? Is this covered by Elder Abuse Law in the State of Georgia, USA?
