Ask a Lawyer and Get Answers to Your Legal Questions
Hi and welcome to JA. Ray here to help you today. Please bear with me a few moments while I review your question and respond.
Are there children here --is he paying child support too?
And the $30k here thats what he makes more per year?
So I would shoot for 40% here say $12k in spousal support. You argue this would allow you to maintain your standard of living.I go a little less than half here because he will have some increase in living costs since you are divorcing , two separate residences. And for 17 years half the length of the marriage. This is reasonable and a good starting point in the divorce.
I appreciate the chance to help you tonight. Thanks again and good luck.
If you can postive rate 5 stars it is much appreciated.
