So long as you paid the past rent due on receiving the eviction notice, you won’t be evicted.
If you failed to pay after receiving the notice, then you will need to raise a defence to non-payment in court; such as defects with the property that made it unliveable. The best approach would be to contact the landlord and offer to pay the rent so that he will abort the court eviction proceedings.
