Ask a Lawyer and Get Answers to Your Legal Questions
hi my name is ***** ***** I would be happy to help. May i ask what the contract is for?
are both parties located w/in Pennsylvania?
so both parties are located in Florida or PA? sorry im not understanding.
ok thank you for that additional information! ill have your answer shortly.
thanks for the clarification, that makes it a lot easier for me to understand the situation!
when was the employment supposed to begin? have you spoken with anyone on the other side about cancelling? lastly, does the contract have a date which it must be agreed upon by?
i apologize it is asking for a phone call- i believe i can adequately answer your questions in this chat!
Thanks for all of the additional information!
i believe contacting them as you had described would be an adequate way to handle this situation. in order for a valid contract to be formed there must be an offer and acceptance. Here you have provided the "offer" but they have not accepted your offer. until acceptance is made there is not a valid contract. Are you wanting them to sign the offer and pursue employment with them or would you rather cancel the contract?
ok, if you inform the party that you no longer wish to pursue employment with them you may do so at this point. because they have not yet signed the contract, it is not yet legally enforceable.
there is not a time limit when they must sign by. you could absolutely write/call them and say you want to have an answer w/in 24 hours or the contract should be terminated/unenforceable.
if you would like to keep this job instead of the second job, i would contact the employer and discuss with them what the delay in signing is and/or if they plan on signing the contract. if their plan is to sign the contract, then i would have them do that ASAP and send you a copy of the completed agreement.
do you have any further questions or concerns? once you are satisfied i would greatly appreciate a positive rating! it does not cost you anything further and it is the only way i am compensated by JA for my time and attention to your questions!
alright, if you would like to cancel your signature on the contract you should give the company written notice that states you no longer wish to fulfill your part of the contract. does that make sense?
let me know if you need anything further! wish you the best of luck and would greatly appreciate the positive rating when you are satisfied!
wonderful. best of luck and thanks for using JA!!
is there anything further i can provide you with to earn a 5-star rating?
ok great. since you are satisfied i would greatly appreciate you giving me a positive rating! it doesn't cost you anything further and is the only way i am compensated by JA for my time :)
is there anything further i can do to earn your 5 star rating?
