Ask a Lawyer and Get Answers to Your Legal Questions
Hello, My name is ***** ***** I will assist you today. Please give me a few minutes to write a response and identify any additional resources for you.
Was this device installed as part of a contract with your dealer or lender?
(If so, disabling the device is likely a breach of contract and can result in legal action against you; if not, I can repost your question to our automotive thread and one of our vehicle experts can assist you with the technical aspects of bypassing this device)
So you do not need to call in to the dealer and get clearance for additional time (some contracts require the buyer to call in each week or month for additional time - the dealer wants to ensure payment, hence "pass time")
And the dealer will not remove the device for you?
You can threaten to sue them in small claims to remove the device.
But if you like, I can send your question over to the auto tech folks and one of those experts can possibly give you the information you need to remove it yourself.
No problem, please stand by, I am going to send the question over. There may be a delay while the question is moved, and another expert responds.
You will get a notification when the next expert posts.
If you have any questions or need assistance in the meantime, you can contact our customer service at: http://ww2.justanswer.com/help
