I am looking to get a diminished value claim for my vehicle

Customer Question

I am looking to get a diminished value claim for my vehicle and am doing research on the process and what I am responsible for doing/ providing to get the best chances to get my vehicle to its original condition
JA: What state are you in? It matters because laws vary by location.
Customer: texas
JA: Has anything been filed or reported?
Customer: the accident itself has been, but nothing so far for diminished value
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: I was not at fault for the accident

I would suggest getting multiple estimates from an independent appraiser. There are companies that can calculate your diminished value based on the damages. Then go to the dealership as well to get a second opinion. Your demand should be based on those numbers.

that is through the at faults insurance?
are companies that say the will assist with this worth using?

Yes, it would be the at fault's insurance. I would try the dealer first and see if that works but they will challenge it as biased so if it is a high enough number then it may be worth it to you.
