Ask a Lawyer and Get Answers to Your Legal Questions
Good afternoon,I'm Doug, and I'm sorry to hear of the confusion. My goal is to provide you with excellent service today. In order to give you a clear and concise answer, I will need some additional information about the circumstances, please.
1. Are you aware that you cannot get social security disability based on your husband's earning history? You can only get a spouse retirement benefit.
2. What are you trying to accomplish?
Thanks for the additional information. The fact that you don't know your husband's social security number cannot prevent you from getting benefits. You benefits in no way have anything to do with whether you are married or not. All you can do is leave the information about your husband blank to the extent that you do not know it.
You will be fine. You do not have to know his social security number in order to get disability benefits under the law.
