Customer Question

An ex customer of mine stole a lot of money in the form of material and services from his old company. He had some stock in the company so the other owners fired him and had him agree to forfeit his ownership as payment for what he stole. Question- can he be prosecuted in Nevada by the DA even if the company does not pursue it? It's still a crime, right?

It is a crime, but it is highly unlikely that law enforcement is going to pursue the matter based on what you posted.

Property crimes - particularly embezzlement - rely on the vic***** *****ating with police (embezzlement often requires the victim to put together most of the evidence for the police and the prosecution to prove the case).

Also keep in mind that it is not enough to "know" that the defendant committed the crime, but that if they are to be convicted of a crime, the prosecution must prove it (which takes a fair amount of time and state money - so if the victim (the customer) is not pushing for prosecution, there probably isn't going to be anything coming from it).
