As it generally works, PayPal uses your funds, which are either deposited with PayPal or removed from an account you have associated with PayPal, to pay for items. So, you are paying for the items and PayPal is just a conduit. However, PayPal does have a feature wherein they will pay for your items and bill you later, however, this feature requires a credit check and PayPal must accept you in order to use this feature. This feature was formerly called "Bill Me Later," but now it has been renamed "PayPal Credit." Here is a link to PayPay Credit should you need it. https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/paypal-creditI hope this was helpful. If so, please provide a rating so I receive credit for responding to you. Also, please feel free to ask follow-up questions. Thanks!!
