Customer Question

My father in currently in a nursing home in Ft Lauderdale. I reside in New York. He has accumulated some assets over his lifetime so he does not qualify for Medicaid. If his stay needs to be long term, what assets can they take for payment after his Medicare benefits lapse and if his cash runs out? Can they take his Pension? His IRA? CD's? His home?

Hello. I'll be happy to assist you.

Is the retirement money he recieves in the form of a monthly payment, or would he have the option to "cash-out" the entire amount, if he wanted to?
