Can the lawyer and the aforementioned persons come after me

Customer Question

Can the lawyer and the aforementioned persons come after me personally. I am a disabled veteran and receive a pension

Yes, they can come after you personally, but the likelihood of that is not very great. Usually, lawyers aren't interested in pursuing claims where there's no guaranteed (insurance) money available.

What should I do. Do I need to retain an attorney or just give the affidavit?
Expert:  Roger replied 1 year ago.

I wouldn't give an affidavit without first consulting with a local lawyer and making sure what you are dealing with.....and to make sure that you are not painting yourself into a corner.

you do suggest I get an attorney since they are requesting the affidavit and it seems to be something they do not need unless they are intending on pursuing me personally?
Expert:  Roger replied 1 year ago.

That's what I would do before giving them anything....especially something that could be used against you.
