I was ordered to pay restitution after pledging no contest

Customer Question

I was ordered to pay restitution after pledging no contest to the charge of misappropriation of public funds $90,000 becoming $200,000+. If I die, do my survivors have to re-pay the remaining (large portion) of that amount?

No, your heirs are not liable for your debt.

If your estate has inadequate funds to pay the remainder of the debt, it will be uncollectible.
