Hi, My name is Philip. I am an attorney with over 16 years experience. Hopefully I can help you with your legal question.
Can they take it?
Not without a court order. The only way to take money from a bank account is with a court order. But if the creditor can obtain a judgment (court order)? They can enforce it against proceeds from a lawsuit (they are not protected like some income, for example Social Security)
