I have abandoned my job because I was over working and have documentation to show that; also hot line specialist(from the company I was working for) she told me that they will not contest my unemployment is up to state.Am I eligible for unemployment?
Thank you for your question. Please permit me to assist you with your concerns.

Typically unemployment benefits are provided in these three main situations:

1. When someone is terminated without cause.
2. When someone quits based on a hostile work environment, and is able to prove that fact to the agency.
3. When the employer agrees to not contest.

Provided that in your application you state that you were terminated rather than you quit on your own, and your employer does not contest, you would b eligible for benefits. Otherwise a 'voluntary termination' (that is, when you quit on your own) would NOT permit you to seek benefits from the state.

Hope that helps!
