law about agrandchild and grandmother sharing a room, sleeping in seperate beds
Hi, My name is Philip. I am an attorney with over 16 years experience. Hopefully I can help you with your legal question.

There is no law prohibiting this. At all. That is, there is no law that prohibits this...that would not be constitutional. Nor is there any law that would require this...that also would not likely be constitutional (such a law would violate the constitution)

So there is no law requiring this in VA and no law preventing this.

Let me know if you have more questions...happy to help if I can

For having the child sleep in the same room?

No. Not unless there is evidence of misconduct (like sexual assault) or that this is somehow harmful for the child. There is nothing inherently improper about at child sleeping in the same room as the parent or guardian

Now...if there is evidence that you are harming the child somehow? Then perhaps.

But again, sleeping in the same room is not, in and of itself, harmful

Such an allegation is, frankly, silly.
