What is the declaration fee to bring my girlfriend from Ghana

This answer was rated:

What is the declaration fee to bring my girlfriend from Ghana to US

Brandon M. :

Hello there.

Customer:

Hello

Brandon M. :

Hello, thank you for your question.

Brandon M. :

There is no declaration fee to bring someone over from Ghana. If you don't mind my asking, what led you to believe that such a fee might exist?

Customer:

well a girl im trying to bring to US showed me a copy of a declaration that said $7000.00 to $10,000.00 was required to make sure she was taken care of if something happened to me.

Brandon M. :

No such fee exists. I would be very concerned about this person's intentions because there is a group of scammers operating out of Ghana that use a "declaration fee" claim as a means of conning men into sending money that is subsequently stolen. Please allow me to refer you to the U.S. Embassy in Ghana: http://ghana.usembassy.gov/contact.html They should be able to confirm for you that no such declaration fee exists.

Customer:

okay thank you .

Brandon M. :

My pleasure. Did you have any other question?

Customer:

I was wondering how could they get copies of airline tickets and visas

Brandon M. :

Who is the "they" that you were wondering about? I do apologize for asking.

Brandon M. :

The potential scammers?

Customer:

the girl im trying to bring over showed me copies of plane ticket she said she bought with the money I gave her

Brandon M. :

Did she show them to you in person?

Brandon M. :

In other words, have you seen the originals, or just copies?

Customer:

No she showed me on my e-mail

Customer:

The tickets had her name on them and cost and destination times

Brandon M. :

I can only speculate without view the images, but the explanation might be as simple as using photoshop software.

Brandon M. :

Frankly, it's not difficult to doctor up some fake airline tickets in an email.

Customer:

Is there any way of telling if the tickets are authentic

Brandon M. :

What airlines would she be flying?

Customer:

If I called the airline would they give me that information

Customer:

British Airways

Brandon M. :

If you have her personal information, you should be able to telephone the airline to authenticate the tickets.

Customer:

ok thank you

Brandon M. :

You should also be able to authenticate through this website: http://www.britishairways.com/travel/managebooking/public/en_gb#

Customer:

ok thank you

Brandon M. :

If she was legitimate, she shouldn't have any reason to not provide you with the booking reference code.

Brandon M. :

My pleasure. Was there anything else?

Customer:

no that was it Thank you very much

Brandon M. :

You're very welcome. I do wish you the best. If you are so inclined, please feel free to rate me once you are completely finished. Thanks.
