Under the laws of Tennessee, a motorist may have some points removed from their driving record, if the Judge hearing the case approves the motorist as a candidate for Defensive Driving School. When the course is completed, the motorist submits proof to the Judge that he completed the course and the Judge sends it to the DMV. The Judge can reduce the points or eliminate the points all together which relate to the ticket for which the motorist went to Defensive Driving School. They usually do not remove all the points and it is more common for them to reduce the number of points for the ticket.
Once the points are on your license, it is impossible to remove them "after the fact". You can try sending the DMV your Certificate of Completion, or any other Certificate the School gave you and ask the DMV to remove a ticket and if it falls into the hands of a clerk who is unfamiliar with the law, he might remove a ticket from your driving record. But, understand that this would be a fluke because they are not removed "after the fact",
