TexLawyer : Good morning. I'll be assisting you with your question.
TexLawyer : Are you asking about liability for yourself or the group (i.e. Boy Scouts, church group, or whatever group this may be part of)?
Customer: for myself, not a organized group
TexLawyer : Are you charging a fee or holding yourself out as an expert rappeller?
Customer: no fee charged, not an expert rappeller
TexLawyer : OK. You only have liability is you act negligently, that is you act in a way an ordinary expert in rappelling would not.
TexLawyer : If a child is injured by either their own fault or something out of your control, the you don't have any liability.
TexLawyer : You can have them sign waivers, but most courts do not allow a person so sign away their ability to sue for negligence.
Customer: thank you
TexLawyer : Glad to help.
TexLawyer : Can I do anything else for you?
