Can civil charges (like judgments) be expunged from your record

This answer was rated:

Can civil charges (like judgments) be expunged from your record in Virginia. I have about 5 cases in Virginia were I was sued for a judgment against me however they were all dismissed. The credit agencies continue to pick them up and I continue to dispute them and send proof that ta judgment was never received. They will remove it and then about 3 months later they are back again. I know you can have criminal records expunged if you were found not guilt or it was dismissed. Can you do the same thing with civil charges? If so what paperwork is needed? These cases are all over 5 years old.
Thank you for your question. I look forward to working with you to provide you the information you are seeking.

I am afraid that civil cases, unlike dismissed criminal cases, cannot be expunged or removed from the records. There is no mechanism or even provision in the Code of VA that would allow you to do something like that.
