What is the law for a bond forfeiture? I went to court on the wrong day and was given another court day, but the court gave me a bond forfeiture, not my bond company. My bond company was ok when I reported my new court date. Is it legal for the court to forfeit my bond with my bond company consent?
Hello. My name is XXXXX XXXXX I will be happy to answer your question.

I am sorry about your unfortunate situation.

If you have missed a court date, the judge does have authority to order your bond to be forfeited, which means that the bond company will loss the bond that they have posted on your behalf and you would owe the amount of the bond to the bond company.

I wish you the best of luck and please let me know if you have any related follow up questions.
