Good morning. You do have the basis for filing a claim. You paid them to do a job and they did not complete the job. Thus they are in breach of contract. Get an estimate from another company on the cost to finish the job. Then, you should file a claim in small claims against them for the cost of having someone else finish the job. Once the suit is filed and a
judgment awarded, you become a judgment creditor and can have the sheriff serve
a summons on the losing party for a debtor examination. That forces the losing
party to meet the judgment creditor in court and answer questions under oath
about the losing party's assets. After that
information is obtained, the judgment creditor has the power to attach bank
accounts, and/or have the sheriff seize other
property to satisfy the judgment.
