At bottom of our road, x father in law stops my son, jumps out of his vehicle and starts yelling obsenities and threats to kill him. He was kicking my son's truck. No physical damage. PROBLEM - my son's DL is suspended for a traffic ticket that was paid today, but has not cleared his license yet. If he calls and reports these threats will he get a ticket for driving on suspended although he will now be at home and not driving? License will be fixed by Wed.

Hello. My name is XXXXX XXXXX X will be happy to answer your question.I am sorry to hear about this difficult situation that your son is in.If your son was driving while suspended when this incident took place and your son does report it to the police, it would be an admission of the fact that he was driving while suspended and there would be a good possibility that your son will be cited for it.
Does it have an effect on the report if the incident happened at 7 pm and not reported till 9?? Are sheriff going to basically dismiss because it was not called in immediately?
Thank you for your follow up.An incident / crime can be reported after it took place and the police will still have to take a report and properly investigate it.
