I co signed 3 private student loans for my son. In 2007 lost my job and had to file bankruptcy in 2009. Due to hardship my bankruptcy included these student loans which show discharged. Also the student loans show discharged on my credit record. I now have received notice from Hayt,Hayt and Landau that they have been hired to collect the debt. (82,000) Meanwhile my son has not worked in two years and is collecting welfare......Only assets I have are my car approx 8,000 value and the mobile home I live in. I make 350.00 a week. What is the worst case scenario and can my wages be garnished (live in Florida)
Optional Information: Country relating to Question: United States State (if USA): Florida Already Tried: Nothing yet, I just received the notice yesterday

If they do not accept the paperwork of the discharge and persist with collection what should be my next step.
Contact a local attorney to sue them for violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.What are your options now?If you wish to continue this conversation, click on the Reply tab.
