One problem I notice right off is that it gives the employer rights to anything done within the course and scope of employment but doesn't define what that means so you have to assume that if you are a salaried employee it means anything you invent unless you get some qualifying language added.

As far as your area of concern that is the only major issue I see but it is a major one and one that has caused issues in the past. Also, if you see or hear anything while "in the course and scope" or use any company equipment (i.e. a computer) for anything then anything connected with it belongs to the company so if you even ck an email about an invention on a personal account with a company computer or on company time the company would own that invention.
