Is it mandatory for a Limited Liability Company in the state of South Carolina to state they are LLC on their business check? If so or if not, what is the G.S. # XXXXX this? or where would I find that General Statute # XXXXX reference?
Hi,My name is XXXXX XXXXX X'd be happy to answer your questions today. We have recently implemented a new payment and feedback system. Please be aware that you are rating my courtesy and service as a professional, and not whether the answer supports your legal position. If you have any questions at all, or there is anything I can clarify for you, please bypass the rating system and click “Continue the Conversation” or "Reply". Choosing either of the lowest two options reflects poorly on me (and not the law), so please reply to me if there is anything I can do to help before choosing those options. I appreciate your patience while we work out the kinks. There is nothing in the Code of Laws that specifically states what a corporation or LLC must have printed on its checks. S.C. Code of Laws, Section 33-44-105 requires that the name of an LLC include ""limited liability company" or "limited company" or the abbreviation "L.L.C.", "LLC", "L.C.", or "LC". "Limited" may be abbreviated as "Ltd.", and "company" may be abbreviated as "Co."." Most banks opening an account will require proof of the company's name, and they can require that it be printed on the checks exactly as printed on the LLC paperwork. But that's up to the bank. It isn't a requirement found in South Carolina state law. Please remember to rate my response before signing out, as this is the only way that I get credit for the time I spend helping you.
