I need to get an idea patented. How to ensure that the lawyer or firm I work with keeps my idea absolutely confidential until patent is granted?
It won't be kept confidential "until the patent is granted". Have a follow-up for you - suppose my patent has been filed but not granted yet, can someone steal my idea from the public record and file a patent of his own with minor changes? Can you please recommend me a good patent attorney in my area or guide me the best way to proceed? My zip code is 22303. I really need some assistance to make the best decision.
The idea is protected from the time it is filed so filed versus granted isn't an issue. There would always have to be more than just minor changes.Try going to www.ewplaw.com.
