i paid down 7 thousands dollars on a car and have had it for a month and the dealership now says I could not get financing so I had to return the car. They are only refunding me 3000 dollars of my money. Is that legal?

the car was not damaged. They said it was fees for the time I had the car and that it was in my contract if I did not get financing they would take the fee out. They did not disclose that information I just signed the papers.
Do the papers actually say that?
it is on a separate paper apart from the contract that says if the car is not returned in 24 hours when asked by the dealership they would charge me 50 dollars a day. they told me after a month that they are still trying to finance me, and now nothing.

can i demand my full refund and should they not give it back legally?
Yes you can demand a full refund. Hopefully, they will give it back to you when you tell them that you are prepared to take legal action.
