14yrs ogo I was convicted of the felony charge Bribary of a Public Official. This was in the state of North Carolina and I was the Public Official.I have had no offenses prior nor since this life altering event.I have been employed in utility construction since that time and now have the opportunity to secure my own contract. To do that I must have a Contractor's License but unable to due to this one conviction. As background, I am a Boy Scout Leader of 6 yrs and am respected in my community.

I am afraid that your recourse in NC, which will refuse to expunge under their laws when there has been any type of a conviction or sentence, would he that you would have to file for a pardon with full restoration of your rights through the governor's office of pardons and parole. Your upstanding conduct in the community would be favorable to you in obtaining the pardon as would the fact that this is a white collar crime, but I am afraid the pardon is your only recourse.
