How do I go about getting my driver's license back due to back child supoort owed.My driver's license is need in order for me to have gainful employment in order to earn money to pay child support payments
I am sorry to hear this is happening, the child support enforcement laws are very strict on child support arrears and the office of child support enforcement or the courts will not release a drivers license once it has been suspended for arrears unless you make a substantial down payment and enter a payment plan. By substantial, the child support office before they will agree to a release would want at least 1/2 of the arrears as a down payment and then a payment plan. Aside from entering that kind of agreement with support enforcement, legally there is nothing more you can argue as the court and the statute is not sympathetic to someone claiming hey need a car to get back and forth to work to pay support and the law creates a catch-22 situation that you find yourself in.
