I have recieved a proposed Findings and Order After Hearing, in which i was fined $750 in Attny fees. I did miss the hearing, but I am curious if the amount of the fine is within normal standards.

Hi, thanks for your inquiry! I have been practicing law for 17+ years and have specific experience with issues similar to yours. That being said...What was the hearing about?
It was for my Answers to Form Interrogatories (Family Law) and Responses to the Document Production Demand that was previously served on me.
OK, so to clarify, did the other party have to file a motion to compel your answers? Is that what this motion was? And you didn't show? (Or sent answers and then didn't show?)
Correct. I missed the hearing to show why I hadn't given answers. I was actually at the lawyers office with all of the paper work at the time of the hearing, but I understand that was my mistake.

OK, no, $750 is not unheard of, and is actually on the low end for the cost of the Motion, as it typically entails more than 3 hours to prepare, file and sit in court on. I have seen orders for Attorneys Fees against the party causing the need for the motion into the Thousands! ------- I hope this clarifies and I wish you the best. Please remember to only rate my answer when you are 100% satisfied with my diligence and effort, and will click a button to the RIGHT side of the choices.
