I had a verbal settlement with my future ex husband with both our lawyers last week. The settlement that I need to pay him is ($10,000)higher than I expected. He didn't give any chance to negociate. Our trail is set up in Sep. They lawyer said our case is not worthy to go to trial at all (we have no child, not too much money, etc). I wonder what the trial coat is and if I should go to the trial.
Hello,Thank you for using JA. Depending on the length of the trial and the complexity of the issues, a typical divorce trial would run $4,00-6,000. With this said, there is no guarantee of outcome. It is possible that the person would spend the $4-6K for a trial and still end up paying the $10K higher settlement..I would opine that the risk and cost is not worth the reward..
.
Thanks.
