I was terminated and was slandered by the person to other clients. I have proof of this slander.
Optional Information: Country relating to Question: United States State (if USA): Texas Already Tried: Nothing
Is there a specific question I could assist you with?
Yes, I was wondering if I had enough information to sue the company responsible for the slander.
Can you provide a few more facts?
The company walked in on june 4th and said I could either resign or be terminated. I had another opportunity within the same company to advance and the DM put a restriction on my file so that I couldn't move on. I called HR and insisted she had no reason to have that on my file and insisted that was to be removed. Once it was removed, I lost that opportunity within the company. The next issue I have is the out and out bold face lies that she told to the parents of the school. I have proof of a conversation held by her as well as many parents who are willing to speak on my behalf. This DM bold faced lied and something needs to be done to rectify my situation.
It does sound like a case of slander. Any time a person "publishes" (tells someone else) and untruth about a person that isn't their opinion then it is slander and you can sue for it in Texas. You can sue yourself in JP court without a lawyer but the maximum recovery is $10k.If you would like any additional information or have more questions please don’t hesitate to ask but please do so my clicking on the Reply to Expert tab.We work for Positive Ratings, please click on one of the top three ratings or one of the Smile Faces, as this would be appreciated. Sorry, we aren't allowed to give referrals but if you look at www.lawyers.com or in your local phone book for a lawyer who advertises they do civil litigation then they could handle it for you.If you would like any additional information or have more questions please don’t hesitate to ask but please do so my clicking on the Reply to Expert tab.We work for Positive Ratings, please click on one of the top three ratings or one of the Smile Faces, as this would be appreciated.
